This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor to join our busy, forward thinking, Legal Services team. We're looking for someone with experience of dealing with contract and procurement, planning and property matters, who can provide high quality legal advice to officers and elected members across the Council. Previous local government experience is not essential but ideally any applicant should have at least 2 years PQE.

This is an important post which is key to the provision of an effective and efficient legal service and to the delivery of the Council's plans and priorities. As development in the Borough thrives, the legal team needs to adapt to changing demands and operate more commercially, this is where you can assist.

The successful candidate will have excellent drafting and communication skills, be willing to attend Committees and be committed to continuous service improvement.

Gedling Borough Council is a great place to work, located within our own beautiful park and close to both Nottingham City Centre and Sherwood Forest. The Council is progressive and ambitious and you will have plenty of scope to maximise your potential.

As an employee at Gedling you can expect:

• Attractive salary

• Free onsite car parking

• Friendly working environment

• Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

• 25 days annual holiday, plus Bank Holidays

• Staff benefits scheme including subsidised membership to leisure/fitness centres

• Gedling lifestyle (discounted scheme to save money at a variety of shops)
