Band 12 £43,661 - £47,566 p.a. or Band 13 £51,175 - £57,524 p.a. dependent on experience
Job type/hours - Permanent, Full time 37 hours per week

We are looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or legal executive with a proven track record of professional achievement and excellent knowledge of planning law to join our team.
You will be the Senior/Principal Planning Lawyer in the authority's reconstituted and expanded Legal Services Department and will advise the Planning Department on strategic and operational planning matters. You will represent the authority at Inquiries and will be responsible for the supervision of junior members of the legal services planning team.
You will need to be able to demonstrate evidence of your experience and successes in providing advice to Members at Planning Committee, Cabinet and private meetings, as well as advising officers across the council with regards to routine planning matters and various development projects, environmental and habitat matters and heritage and conservation matters.
