Job description

Lawyer (Contracts and Procurement)

St Helens Council are inviting applications for a post within its Legal Services Team. If you are the successful candidate, you will have a flexible approach to problem solving, demonstrating sound judgement and the capability to deal with unexpected situations. You will be organised, an excellent communicator and an effective team member. In providing legal services to the Council's client departments, the post holder will be dealing with a range of legal work across the wide spectrum of local authority functions.

The successful candidate will have experience of advising on contract law and will have drafted contracts on a wide range of matters. The post also involves advising on procurement issues and related matters such as state aid and joint ventures. It is anticipated that the holder of the post will play a key role on various multi-agency project teams which will be established to deliver a variety of projects as part of the Council's commercialisation agenda.
