Contracts Solicitor

18.5 hours

We are looking for a creative and proactive Contract Solicitor to join our Legal Services Department who will provide an efficient and economic legal service in all matters pertaining to procurement and contracts.

As Contract Solicitor you will be an adaptable and highly organised solicitor, barrister or fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with experience in procurement and contracts.

You will manage your own caseload, giving legal advice to the Council and its officers. Your duties will include drafting, processing and serving appropriate contract documents, in connection with the Council's functions. You will also be required to draft, prepare and comment on committee reports, policy documents and other briefing papers for the Head of Legal & Democratic Services. Clear advice should be given to Members and client departments on the impact of legislation and codes of practice on particular proposals and local policies.

You should have a systematic approach to your work and the proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. Furthermore, you will be a confident IT user and be an excellent team player.
